When Laying Edges Goes Wrong

Hey lovelies, long time no see. Been another while but I’ve got an interesting package for you today. I’ve been observant these few weeks about ladies and their hair and have noted some NO’s that we just look over but because I want the ladies to look good and proper I got to let this out.

We have different hairstyles that uncover our hairlines like braids, updos, afros, you can name them. Some of us just brush the hairlines and off we go while others apply gel to lay them neatly. Gels are good to use when you want to tame that hair that flies off immediately you leave the house but my problem here is, when it is applied like a 2-D art on the forehead. 😂😂😂😂
Yes, I said that. I mean I just can’t fathom how it creates a beautiful effect. Below is my picture of me creating the 2-Dimensional effect

image
Well, i don't like this at all. It has no natural look.

But in the true sense, baby hairs have a wavy, curvy, natural look and they definitely don’t look like this. Now next is a neater and more possible natural look when applying gel on your edges.

image
Now you see the wavy effects, the 3-D effect:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Now that’s some neatness, you get what I’m stressing here, right? Neatness. Now I’m not saying you can’t brush your hair but if you’re using the gel…go 3-D.

Have a lovely week.

If you got comments, suggestions, I’m up to see them below. Adiós!

BRAIDS ALL BY MYSELF!

Hello guys, I know I’ve been to away from my site but I was really busy with life…you know new year, setting goals, adjustments here and there. Hopefully I should be consistent this year in my posts. Well today, I’m gonna share how I got my hair braided ALL BY MYSELF in pictures. Yep, all by myself. Got a few friends that were  like, ‘Cathy, why are you on low-cut?’, “Cathy, you haven’t put relaxer on your hair?”, “When are you relaxing your hair?” “Your hair is crazy.” Mehhnnn, I’ve at some point felt like quitting on going natural but girl, I’ve lived my first 20 years of life on it why not lemme have a feel of my texture and rock it as I want. Some went as far as asking if I’ve joined Deeper Life. But anyways, this is my hair and I thank God for what I have.
This is the hair I braided

Not really had time to get a good pic except early at work

Now you must thinking, “how did you do it?” Firstly, I’ve been braiding my hair in cornrows and Marleys since high school (precisely JS3-junior high) so I’ve come a long way.
I wanted less hair on my head so I bought a pack of Darling Super Star Colour 99J that’s very close to my hair colour. Took out one plaited bundle and cut it into four equal halves, did same to the second bundle and I had this length below

See me getting ready to change my look below

So I pulled out the hair strands by picking little from the scissor-cut end. Phewww, dunno how to explain that now. I guess there are YouTube videos on it.
I parted my hair in small squares

It seems like my hair is not grown but that hair you see, has a lot of shrinkage. Back to business, I continued in the laid down pattern because I wanted to make sure I get my hair extension gone round my hair. Sorry I didn’t picture how I plaited a braid. But this hair was made between the hours of 5pm & 2am (because I attended to other things at home, chatting inclusive,Lol). With focus I would have finished within 4hrs but that will another time.

I put a few highlights from the hair that was left from my Senegalese twists of last November, to bring a pop of color to my complexion.

Really stressed out here

For those that don’t know how my hair looks like

My texture’s 4C, really kinky, tight and soft (when taken care of). Got much to say but really if you got comments, questions, suggestions, feel free…I’ll attend to you. Love you all

Captured it this evening, permit that light from behind, ;);)

Eleven Days After New Year’s Day

You probably wondering what happened eleven days after January 1st. Yes, I know. It’s day I much anticipated of what and how would happen that day. It’s a day I defended my project work in school. Dunno about others but God was in it right from the beginning of the project till the defence. Questions were as I expected them to be and all I can expressively say and do is I thank God. I remain ever grateful for His amazing grace. Not forgetting my friends and family that were of indelible input to the success of the project. Want to say thank you Kaddy, Kenneth, Patience, Ubong, Magdalene and my siblings, Michael, Imo, Afahide also my able parents. Not forgetting spiritual support from my pastors. I appreciate everyone. They say it takes a village to raise a child or so I heard, glad I’m rising up to be that woman I’m meant to be. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE, LOVE Y’ALL.

Happy Thursday folks…I was supposed to have given a welcome messag

e for a long while now but I couldn’t because of the urgency of my project work in school. I testify of the faithfulness of God in my life,it’s been amazing. It has not been the perfect story but it all turned out for my good. I want to use today’s post to tell you that God is not far from you but it’s what you do that keeps Him far. Just let  Him in in the affairs of your life, no matter how little.

Letting Jesus being your Lord, Master and Redeemer doesn’t mean you won’t face trials, tests, temptations because some people carry the notion that you won’t be faced with battles and so when they face one and fear hits them, they quickly say God doesn’t care in their hearts. Whatever it is, God is there as long as you are His cos He never leaves us defenceless. Remember King David? He fought 66 battles in his lifetime and won all. How? He believed God and worked out his faith. He repented of any sin he was convicted of. So you? What are you doing?
Isaiah 59:1-2 says,
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened,
That it cannot save;
Nor His ear heavy,
That it cannot hear.
But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
And your sins have hidden His face from you,
So that He will not hear.”

Well I’ve given what I have, think on consider your ways. Love you all. Selah.
